Find the sum of the 1st 10 terms of the sequence :- 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, .......?

This question is based on Geometric Progression.

A = 1/2

R = 1/2 (Common Ratio)



SUM = A (1 - Rⁿ) / 1 - R

Put n = 10



 SUM = 1/2 (1 - 0.5¹⁰) / 1 - 0.5 = 1 - 0.5¹⁰

Direct GP question,

A = 1/2 and R = 1/2

Applying the formula for sum of GP where R < 1,
and putting n=10

Sum = 1 - 1/1024 = 1023/1024.
